The film “The history teacher”, which in the ensuing debate will be discussed with educator Maria Jesús Comellas, will allow us to reflect on the importance of trusting the students, the meaning of education. Anne Gueguen is professor of history in an institute of the outskirts of Paris. It is a group with no ambitions or vital projects. Anne is concerned about their future and therefore challenges the students to participate in a national contest on the meaning of being adolescents in a Nazi concentration camp. After much effort and insistence, Anne manages to capture their attention and motivate them. During the process, they open up, learn to share and trust in themselves and their abilities. Therefore, we see how to educate one must avoid prejudices and enhance the abilities of each student. Discussion with Maria Jesús Comellas, teacher and PhD in Psychology. The discussion will be driven by Jaume Cela, teacher and writer. Admission: €4 (50% off for Caixabank customers).
