The UAB is among the best education establishments in Spain and the European Union in terms of the quality of teaching and research, and aims to prepare professionals with the profiles needed by society. It offers a wide range of courses, with 81 undergraduate programs, 143 official masters and 79 Ph.D. It is the house of 48,000 students, and 26% of them are international.

The UAB holds a leading position in the most prestigious international university rankings. In recent years, this award has been favored by the growing impact of the research, the constant improvement of the quality of teaching and the ability to attract international talent. This progress has been decisive in going forward positions in the three main university rankings: the QS World University Ranking, the Times Higher Education World University Ranking and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) – Shanghai Ranking.

According to the THE WUR 2016/2017, the UAB is located at position 163rd in the world, 76th in Europe and first in Spain. As regards academic ambits, the UAB is the top 100 worldwide in the fields of Veterinary and Social Sciences. QS Top 50 under 50 2016 (which includes universities founded less than 50 years ago), ranks the UAB 9th in the world, 2nd at European level and first in Spain. In the ranking THE Top 150 under 50 2016 ranks the UAB 12th in the world.

We are one of the few universities in Spain to have a university campus and to develop its activities in natural surroundings. UAB’s infrastructure was created exclusively for university life and the campus provides all the services for academic, leisure and everyday life. Strongly committed to international projection, we participate in a wide range of international projects and student exchange programs in Europe, America, Africa and Asia.

In 2016 the UAB set up the International Summer Term, a program that allows international students from all over the world to study regular undergraduate ECTS subjects taught 100% in English in a range that covers different fields from the Social Sciences, Sciences and Technology.
