In an official event presided over by the mayor of L’Hospitalet, Núria Marín, in which she praised the work carried out by the Barcelona Centre Universitari (BCU), this service that helps students, teachers and foreign researchers that arrive in Barcelona celebrated its twentieth anniversary on October 24 in L’Harmonia building in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. The celebration was attended by the General Director of Universities of the Government of Catalunya, Josep Pallarès; the Commissioner of Education and Universities of the Barcelona City Council, Miquel Àngel Essomba; the professor of the UB, Joan Guàrdia; the editor of Time Out Barcelona, Eduard Voltas, and the director of the BCU, Montse Serret. Others who attended the event were other representatives of these institutions, universities and consulates, as well as people who have collaborated with the BCU these years.
