The exhibition, with more than 700 pieces, proposes an exhaustive look, unprecedented until now, at the protagonists and the social and cultural movements of a transcendental era: the decade of the seventies of the 20th century. After the yeyé wave of the early 60’s, the new hippie and countercultural currents from California, London and Amsterdam, the new rock and roll trends and the consequences of the French May 68, burst into Catalonia. A part of the protesting youth, fed up with Franco’s authoritarian repression, with the ultra-conservative morality of the family home and the dogmatism of the clandestine organizations of the left, undertook a vital break by skipping the repressive apparatus. Divided into different thematic spaces, it documents the emergence of communes, feminism, psychedelia, ecology, spirituality, avant-garde music and arts, comics or fanzines, among many other references. Free admission.
