The Jazz Nights of La Sagrera, which began on July 5 with the voice of the American singer Carrie Lewis, continue on the stage of Masadas Square with the concert that on July 12, at 9:00pm, will offer Scaramouche, a group that was born in 2016 with the desire to undo the seams of jazz manouche. The challenge was to try to bring new airs to the genre without losing any of its great virtues, such as the rhythmic force, the virtuous presence of the guitars, the improvisation and the cheerful and festive character of this music, of popular origin and that mixes two cultures. On this occasion, they present their instrumental version with the presence of the sax that brings a different color to the timbre of the strings and a more modern language when it comes to improvising.
Finally, on July 19, two groups will perform. The concert will start at 8:00pm with the Combo Sagrera Destruction, from the BCN Fusió Music School, which has been active since 2007. Later, at 9:30pm, it will be the turn of Men in Swing and Laia Molins, that will offer a journey through the history of swing, emulating the great bands of the golden age of jazz, and tap dancing. The repertoire includes themes with a marked style (Dixieland South, Royal Garden Blues and Tin Roof Blues), to the evolution to modern styles, going through the golden age of swing and ending with freer jazz and improvisation.
