The exhibition shows how this sport has contributed throughout the 20th century to the social construction of the Catalan capital. Curated by Xavier Pujades and Carles Santacana, the exhibition proposal has among its objectives to break down many topics from the perspective of urban history. Football has been crucial in the uses of public space, in the internationalization of Barcelona and its economy, in the media, in daily life and in the construction of neighbourhoods and identities. The exhibition includes many images from the last century and also wants to question the visitor about the future, with questions about whether football will continue to be, in this 21st century, an instrument of social cohesion in an increasingly plural world, if there will be full equality between women and men, or what role should the public powers play. Free admission, booking here.
