Park Güell hosts a cycle of four guitar concerts this July. An instrument that, as will be demonstrated in recitals, can be used in very diverse styles: classical, Mediterranean, flamenco, jazz… The Museum of History of Barcelona (MUHBA) organizes the event, and the appointments will be on Friday 3, 10, 17 and 24 July. Program:
Àlex Garrobé, considered one of the best classical guitarists of today, will offer a repertoire made up of works by Barcelona authors such as Ferran Sor, Miquel Llobet and Joan Manén.
Marco Mezquida (piano), Chicuelo (guitar) and Paco de Mode (percussions) will offer a concert with Mediterranean and flamenco sounds.
Alí Arango and Josué Fonseca, Pyrophorus Guitar Duo, will offer a program that will travel through bolero, son and guajiras, but also through the rereading of Catalan popular songs.
Guitarist Albert Bello and violinist Oriol Saña with their quintet will close the series with manouche jazz sounds.
All concerts will start at 9pm and will be free, but you need to book in advance here.
