The Barcelona Sant Jordi International Film Festival aspires to maintain a tight link with the cultural and popular characteristics of the emblematic Sant Jordi festival and offers a selection of international films, which are widely related to literature and/or history. Preferred films for the Official Section are adaptations of literary works, productions based on or related to historical events and film biopics about well-known figures. The festival will open with “Viatge al país dels blancs” and close with “Asesinato en la 3a planta”. This year, filmmaker José Luis Garci will receive the Honorary Award.
