Charles Darwin is best known for proposing the theory of natural selection, a cornerstone in understanding the evolution of species. This theory is often associated almost exclusively with the animal world, and Darwin is primarily remembered as a zoologist. However, the English scientist often resorted to the study of plants as a fundamental tool to test his theory of evolution. This exhibition invites you to enter Darwin’s laboratory where the protagonists are a hundred living plants of the species he experimented with, accompanied by illustrations, models and smell devices. These plants and flowers show in chronological order the discoveries that tested the theory that would revolutionize the world and forever change our conception of nature. Free admission.
