One hundred years ago, in the heart of the Costa Brava, S’Agaró was born. In 1924, the industrialist Josep Ensesa and the architect Rafael Masó began the construction of a garden city that combined architecture, landscape and tourism. S’Agaró embodied their noucentistes ideals, and was synonymous with the civility and excellence they wanted for Catalonia. In just a few years S’Agaró was a reality and became a stage for the country’s culture, politics and economy. The exhibition of the centenary of S’Agaró is divided into 6 areas to explain the origins and history of the garden city, and what have been the main characters that have made this place of the Costa Brava in a name of international reference. Free admission.
