Will we live with soft robots?

The emerging field of soft robotics has great potential to change the way we relate to robots and the way we use them. Soft robots, unlike rigid robots, can adapt to variable environments, move according to task requirements, manipulate unknown objects that vary in size and shape, and access confined spaces, among others. Lecture by Concepción Alicia Monje Micharet, PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Extremadura with a European Doctorate distinction and Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M) where she is part of the RoboticsLab research group on control architectures for humanoid robots.
