Two stones. Persistent landscapes

This exhibition aims both to show the richness and diversity of the landscapes formed by dry stone and, above all, to vindicate its validity and persistence. The dry stone is an age-old technique that shapes the landscapes of a large part of the Catalan-speaking territories and an example of sustainability with multiple construction possibilities for the present and the future, viable and compatible with the fight against climate change. It is organised in three areas. The first describes the great diversity of Catalonia’s landscape, and focuses on seven landscapes of which dry stone constructions form an intrinsic and notable part. The second focuses on a series of characteristics and values that make dry stone a universal asset. The third emphasises the forestation of the rural world and its positive consequences for the recovery of landscapes and the presence of dry stone constructions. Free entry.
